Paying for Care
Occasionally we accept residents with Local Authority funding and a privately paid top up fee. But this is rare.
We welcomed 44 new residents in the last year & 43 of them are funded privately
• Own their own home
• Have assets or savings
• Have an income of approximately £45,000/yr
What happens if you run out of money? Will Mum have to leave what has become her home & have to search for a new care home?
Because we don’t want you to have any reason for Mum not to come to us right now, we came up with a unique guarantee: A Home for Life.
‘Home for Life’ Guarantee
We believe that residents & their families should only have to look for a permanent home once. We are committed to looking after people right through to end of life care.
When you choose Hopton you are choosing Mum’s permanent new home. If Mum becomes ill or requires extra care then we will provide it.
Should your allocated funds ever run out then we will still continue to look after your Mum at the prevailing local authority rate.
Legally we cannot look after people who are assessed as requiring nursing care. For everyone
If Mum needs to sell her home first DON’T WAIT
We understand that your Mum may be deemed to be self-funding because she owns her own house. We also understand that it takes time to sell
Therefore we offer a deferred payment scheme so that you can have up to 6 months before you start paying care home fees.
When is the best time for Mum to come to Hopton Cottage Care Home?
We believe that if your Mum comes to us early she will live longer. As falls at home will be avoided & all her health needs will be taken care of.
Every new resident gains weight within the first few weeks of coming to us thanks to regular delicious home-cooked meals.
We’re extremely confident she’ll have a more fun life & this provides Mum with reason & purpose to live again.
We’ll be emailing you soon with lots of detailed information over the coming days.
